BeeKeeper Colony Edition

BeeKeeper Colony Edition has now been released. The program features on Colony are identical to BeeKeeper Professional Edition, for more information on these features please see our Professional page. The difference lies in the area of the database. Currently all our programs have been a one PC and one database program. With the introduction of BeeKeeper Colony you will now be given the ability to have numerous computers sharing one common database. Colony will have all the power and features of BeeKeeper Professional but with this new feature data can be entered and shared between all copies and all computers.

With this new program one computer is designated as the "Parent" and holds the main database, then as many "Children" programs as needed can be installed on other computers or laptops.

For example your operation can now have multiple laptops going out to the beeyards. As often as needed the current "Parent" database from the master program can be transfered to individual "Children". During the day, changes and additions can be made to either the Parent or Children's database. When the Children's databases are transfered back all data is combined and entered in to the Parent database.

If there is a duplication or discrepancy of information when a Child's database is entered an Error Log will appear asking you to review the information entered. Compare the information in the Error Log with the records in the Parent and adjust the Parent's record as required. The information in the Error Log can be delete when it has been looked after.

As an extension of Colony Edition, Nomad will soon be released. With Nomad Edition you will receive the added benefit of designating one or more of the "Children" programs to be a Handheld. You will be able to have one common database that will except data from other PCs, laptops and Handhelds.

All purchases of BeeKeeper Colony Edition between now and the release date of Nomad Edition will be guaranteed a free upgrade. All information entered into the Colony program can be transfered into the new Nomad Edition with no loss of data. When you purchase BeeKeeper Colony just let us know that you want this option.
